Grow environments, particularly those which utilise artificial lighting, are typically thought to always ‘run hot’. The idea that heating such an environment might also be necessary is not common, but supplementary heat can be needed depending on the time of year, system, and/or crop type. Greenhouse environments, for instance, can struggle to retain warmth in winter months, meaning supplementary heat must be added to maintain the right environmental conditions for plant growth.
Ensuring there is contingency should environmental conditions change can allow the avoidance of crop losses, or the loss of growth potential. Planning ahead for requirements such as additional warmth, is therefore a sensible strategy.
Not all grow operations will require additional heat to maintain environmental conditions, but for those that do, we have a broad range of options, across a range of fuel types – something to suit every grow environment type.
